Chauncy Jerabek
 Our school is named in honor of Chauncy I. Jerabek. Mr. Jerabek was the gardener for Mr. Scripps, the man who owned the area that is today Scripps Ranch. Mr. Scripps hired Mr. Jerabek to plant eucalyptus trees all over the area, which would then be used to make railroad ties. Unfortunately, eucalyptus wood is too soft for railroad ties, and the trees were left standing, hence the many eucalyptus trees of Scripps Ranch. |
