Here are some of the programs that FFO supports:
- Computers /Technology Instructional Aides (View the Technology Committee Information page)
- Art Corps Program
Art Corps has developed into an important program at Jerabek, culminating with the exhibition of the children's art at the Jerabek Art Show. The fundraising of the FFO, generous donations by the local business community, and the support of many (100+) volunteers make this program possible. If you wish to volunteer, contact Paula Trubitt via the FFO office.
- Running Club
Running Club is held each morning from 8:45 - 9:00 am. Each classroom needs a volunteer to tally the laps run by members of that class. Please check with your teacher to make sure that your class is covered and help make this operation "run" smoothly.
- Family Math Nights
Family Math is a great way for parents and children to spend time together doing something that is fun, challenging and important. Parents and children can talk to and help each other while they develop an understanding of mathematical concepts and strategies. Family Math Night promises to bring even more "math madness" with new games, the return of balloon flights, analyzing the stock market, and some wild math relay matches.
- Family Science Nights
You are invited to share a fun-filled evening with your child exploring the world of science. Perform dazzling science experiments, discover how we can help save planet Earth, or test your science knowledge by playing the science trivia game. Each grade will have their own Family Science Night, so as to provide age appropriate materials and experiments. Science education is very important for Jerabek students. In order for this program to continue to succeed, we need volunteers to help out at the stations. You do not need to be a scientist to help, as on the job training is given!
- Student Needs Support Services
- Wednesday Family Packets
A wonderful service to the school, volunteers for this program collate school, district, and community news to send home with a student from each family every Wednesday, starting in October. This year, we are starting to implement a new system in which the fliers from outside the school are posted as .pdf or word doc. in order to save paper! Please contact Lisa Bagot via the FFO office for further information.
- School Directory
This directory is compiled as a service for the Jerabek Elementary School students and staff, This directory is compiled as a service for the Jerabek Elementary School students and staff, solely for private use. Commercial or other use is strictly prohibited. Printing is funded by the FFO. Please return completed forms as soon as possible.
- Playground Equipment
- Rosalie Fisher Publishing Center
Named after a former principal, and funded by donations in her memory, the Rosalie Fisher Publishing Center enables all children enrolled in Jerabek to publish their own original story in book form. Volunteers type the story and send it to the Publishing Center where they print it out, take a digital picture of the student to include in the book, bind the book, and return it to the student for illustration. Special projects such as classroom books, poetry, recipe books, "End of the Year" memory books for teachers and parents, etc. are welcome. If you would like to help, there are several needs we have: home typists, staffing the Center, keeping track of the student's books (where they are in the production process), and other assorted jobs.
