Dear Parents,

 

The 2007-2008 school year is off to a great start at Jerabek Elementary School! I hope you are excited about the school year and are looking forward to much success. The entire Jerabek staff is looking forward to another year and we are united in our effort to provide excellent instruction for each child everyday.

 

If you’ve not seen Jerabek’s most recent STAR test scores it is evident that our collective hard work and dedication is continuing to pay-off with regards to student performance. In fact, I am proud to announce that Jerabek’s Academic Performance Index (API) increased from 921 to 924 last year. I believe it is important to be proud and celebrate this, but to also continue to analyze where we can continue to make progress so that each and every child experiences success. I look forward to continuing to capitalize on the progress we’ve made and reaching new heights together.

 

To accomplish this, the entire Jerabek staff will continue to place our focus on student achievement and use our prior work to guide us towards the use of the Standards-Based Report Card (which is scheduled to be implemented district-wide September 2008). Additionally, I am excited to announce that all Scripps Ranch elementary schools will participate in cluster-wide training in this area throughout the year. I am excited to join with our colleagues from across Scripps Ranch and look forward to exciting results as we continue developing your child into a well-rounded, independent and educated student.
